Where is the worst air quality in the US?

The air quality issue is worse in some parts of the country than in others. Most notably, residents in the Southwest—especially California and Arizona—typically experiences the worst air quality in any given year. Much of the reason for this can be attributed to climate and geography.

Indoor Air Quality Chart

Taking measures to improve indoor air quality in your home has become more important than ever before. According to the EPA Americans on average, spend approximately 90 percent of their time indoors, where the concentrations of pollutants are often 2 to 5 times higher than typical outdoor concentrations

So, how do you improve indoor air quality? You would think changing filters regularly would greatly help improve indoor air quality. That’s not always correct. Did you know filters were first created to filter the unit not to filter the air we breathe. Filters have come along way, and some do offer some indoor air quality benefits. So, how do you pick a filter? This is where the MERV ratings come in. Anything over a MERV 13 will capture air borne particles as small as .3 microns. With that said the higher the MERV rating will greatly reduce airflow and unit performance.

Duct Cleaning

The most effective way to clean residential air ducts and ventilation systems is to employ source removal methods of cleaning and dislodging the dirt, dust, and debris while your system is under negative pressure through the use of a specialized, powerful, and highly efficient HEPA collection unit as described in the NADCA ACR-2021. This is a contained and clean process. While the negative air machine draws air through the system, devices are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any debris that might be stuck to interior surfaces. We clean the entire trunk line from beginning to end in each vent. Debris can then travel down the ducts to the collection unit, which removes it from the system and the home.

Duct Sanitizing

EPA-approved sanitizer is capable of killing and stopping the activity of the Coronavirus as well as 99.9 percent of any other organics such as bacteria, microbials, etc. Our sanitizing process combines the germ-killing ability of a disinfectant with a cleaning agent to clean and kill viruses, mold, mildew, bacteria, and other organisms while also sanitizing, disinfecting, and deodorizing your air ducts. This process is approved to kill pathogens that can cause many diseases, including hepatitis, poliovirus, SARS, Avian flu, Rhinovirus, HIV-1, listeria, MRSA, strep, and more. There are several companies that offer “sanitizing;” but unfortunately after doing extensive research and competitor analysis, we have not found another company in Arizona that uses the specific sanitizer approved by the EPA. When using the EPA-approved product, sanitizing your air ducts is deemed completely safe. When the sanitizer enters your ductwork and dries, it biodegrades and is completely harmless without leaving any harmful residue behind.
